Online Communication and the Coca-Cola Company

The Coca-Cola Company is a very established beverage corporation best known for its flagship product, Coca-Cola. The company has grown to become one of the world's leading beverage companies, offering a wide range of beverages including soft drinks, juices, bottled water, sports drinks, and energy drinks.

Today, we'll be assessing their online presence and communication to see how they utilize digital platforms to maintain brand visibility and audience engagement.

Coca-Cola has a strong online presence, utilizing various digital platforms for marketing, communication, and engagement with consumers. Their website serves as a hub for information about their products, initiatives, sustainability efforts, and career opportunities. Additionally, the company maintains profiles on most major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where they interact with consumers, share updates, run marketing campaigns, and address customer inquiries.

The website features many graphics on the homepage that advertise their products. The top highlights a new promotion with Marvel where consumers can win prizes and experiences by purchasing their products. The middle of the site features new Coca-Cola product flavors, activities, and other product information. The bottom lets you explore the company's various brands and showcases social media platforms and many other site categories.

Coca-Cola maintains a a few consistent brand identities across the web. The iconic red and white color scheme and the distinctive Coca-Cola logo are prominently featured in most digital communications such as Instagram. This ensures immediate recognition by consumers. Their Facebook page has a more professional look,  highlighting sustainability and efforts with local communities.

I feel like the company could improve its online communication by being more consistent on some platforms. Networks such as Threads and TikTok feature an inconsistent post schedule, where it may be weeks or many months before something new is featured. This could hurt a company's advertising and information sharing, creating a diminished brand presence, especially if a percentage of the audience is only active on such platforms.

Overall, the Coca-Cola company has a strong online presence and showcases various communication elements to engage consumers throughout many platforms.
