The Coca-Cola Company is a very established beverage corporation best known for its flagship product, Coca-Cola. The company has grown to become one of the world's leading beverage companies, offering a wide range of beverages including soft drinks, juices, bottled water, sports drinks, and energy drinks. Today, we'll be assessing their  online presence and communication to see how they utilize digital platforms to maintain brand visibility and audience engagement. Coca-Cola has a strong online presence, utilizing various digital platforms for marketing, communication, and engagement with consumers. Their website serves as a hub for information about their products, initiatives, sustainability efforts, and career opportunities. Additionally, the company maintains profiles on most major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where they interact with consumers, share updates, run marketing campaigns, and address customer inquiries. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants

Marc Prensky describes the " immigrant/native divide " as the difference between those who were not born into the digital world but have adopted digital technology later in life (digital immigrants) and those who have grown up surrounded by digital technology (digital natives). According to Prensky, this divide has affected how students learn in several ways. Digital immigrant educators often find it hard to communicate with digital native students effectively because they speak an "outdated language" compared to the digital language of the students. Information can be misunderstood and difficult to convey. Digital immigrants tend to use traditional teaching methods that may not resonate with digital natives who may prefer something faster, parallel, and interactive. The disconnect can make it challenging for educators to engage digital native students effectively. New skills and interests of digital natives may not be appreciated by digital immigrants, leading to ...

Knapp's Relational Model

When I think about my interpersonal relationships, one that comes to mind is the connection I have with my oldest brother. According to Knapp's Relational Model , It is fair to say that we are in the integration stage. As I've gotten older, our relationship has grown deeper, and we've developed a better understanding of one another. Sharing similar interests and hobbies has become a natural part of our relationship. Living in the same household provides us with ample opportunities to have meaningful conversations and collaborate on various projects. During weekends, we enjoy activities like trying out new restaurants, exploring stores that relate to our hobbies, or even going on a fishing trip.  Online communication plays a positive role in enhancing the strength of our relationship. Messaging apps enable us to stay connected and exchange information even when we're not around physically. The ability to share media facilitates better understanding and smoother informati...

Social Media and Mental Health

In the world of social media, different networking sites offer their own benefits and drawbacks. I find that I use different platforms for specific purposes, as one is usually better at something than the other. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, among others, each serve distinct purposes. Facebook tends to focus more on personal connections and sharing life updates, while Twitter emphasizes real-time information and short-form content. Instagram revolves around visual storytelling, and LinkedIn is predominantly a professional networking platform. The benefits of these platforms include staying connected with friends and family, networking for career opportunities, and accessing a wealth of information. However, drawbacks may include privacy concerns, addictive tendencies, and exposure to negative content or cyberbullying. PRG I think social networking sites should have a responsibility to promote mental health among their users. They can do so by implementing features that en...

About Me

Hi all, I'm Nathan! I was born in Massachusetts but promptly moved to Spokane Valley, Washington where I have been ever since.  I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture after transferring from my local community college, where I was able to obtain an AAS in Greenhouse/Nursery Management. With my BS, I hope to pursue a career in plant biology and exotic horticulture, possibly working in one of a few esteemed tropical botanical gardens in the U.S.  The natural world has always been an interest of mine and in the last few years, I took a more serious turn towards the world of exotic and rare tropical plants. I have a large collection at home and I work at one of the largest plant nurseries in my location. I also enjoy keeping less common animals as pets, such as reptiles and invertebrates. I find it fun to travel with the family when we get a chance as well.  I have never taken a communication class and am excited to learn the various aspects a course like...
